About me:

When I was growing up, I thoroughly enjoyed all levels of fitness which included every sport going, I had a huge involvement with Lichfield Rugby Club from the age of 7-16, and I played at a reasonable level of football for most of my childhood. For this reason, just being around successfully driven people made me want to work in the fitness industry of some kind.

I joined the British Army in 2005 and pursued a career in the Royal Engineers as a Welder and Fabricator. I took up an opportunity to work within a specialist Bomb Disposal regiment and spent seven years growing, developing my skills, and climbing the promotional ladder. Two high threat No.2 operational tours of Afghanistan, many worldwide operations including trips to Canada and three trips to Kenya as explosive ordnance disposal and many UK operations gained me a lot of life experience for which I am thankful today.

Whilst in the military I ran boot-camps and had remote PT clients at weekends until I decided during my second tour that I would leave and pursue a career in the fitness industry which I always dreamed of doing. In 2013 I took that leap and opened up what is now Central Staffs CrossFit.

I opened a small 1500 square foot unit and began my journey to bring the best professional, effective, strength and conditioning training program to the general public and athletes of Stafford. Central Staffs CrossFit has since expanded in size, staff, and members, including 4 coaches, administration, and software development. We regularly take on University students on placement from their sports science degrees and have work experience from local schools.

In January 2023 I decided to take on Eccleshall CrossFit and I embarked on our next adventure along with my business partners to help bring CrossFit to the local area of Eccleshall. We are excited to see where the future takes this facility.

For me owning a Gym was this big huge pedestal that I created for myself when I first had the confidence to say I would become a coach back in 2009, but owning a gym is not what most people think it is, it’s the community and the members within it, it’s the team around you and the coaches within that gym that make it all worthwhile.  If you do not have a happy supporting successful environment you might as well close the door to clients or friends.

What gives me motivation and inspiration is seeing people from all walks of life achieve things that they personally thought were never possible. I am a huge enthusiast about watching, supporting, and cheering on people I feel deserve greatness because of their hard work and determination, not luck.

My biggest beliefs are that nothing is given, but hard work is recognised and rewarded. Every single person moves and responds differently. That we are all equal and if you cannot celebrate someone else’s success, then who is going to celebrate yours when you achieve it. Knowing that I have people relying on me to help them achieve their goals and aspirations, knowing they need the team and my help to get them to the next stage, or the next chapter of their life is what drives me the most to carry the workload and the things that I do.
